There was light at the end of the tunnel for more than one
hundred youth rugby players in Leeds last month when ArcGen Hilta
donated a refurbished PowerTower lighting tower to ensure play
could continue through the dark winter months.
Harehills A.R.L.F.C was established ten years ago in a deprived
area of Leeds to help keep children off the streets. Operating on a
small budget, their five young rugby teams use the local Working
Men's Club as a changing facility and, until recently, their pitch
was unlit.
"ArcGen Hilta's generous donation of a lighting tower is a huge
boost for the players, the club and the local community," said
Richard Shaw, Coach at Harehills A.R.L.F.C. "We will now be able to
carry on playing throughout the winter months, through to next
season and beyond. We would like to thank ArcGen Hilta for their
support."
Each year, the company commits designated funds and equipment to
worthwhile community projects. Funds allocated for 2011/12 include
the lighting tower for Harehill's A.R.L.F.C and sponsored
tracksuits for Hawkins Sports Soccer Academy's junior team in
Walsall.
"We recognise the role that Harehills rugby club plays in the
local community and we are delighted the PowerTower lighting tower
has made such an impact. It is perfect for lighting pitches as the
metal Halide lamps provide directional bright light across the
pitch. It can be easily manoeuvred into place and its supersilent
operation means that referee decisions will not be drowned out,"
said commercial director, Phil Winnington.
ArcGen Hilta is the premier provider of onsite equipment proving
lighting towers, generators, welder generators, water pumps and
power washers to the rental, construction, rail, sports, events and
other related industries.
