RSM Tenon's corporate finance team in Leicester has advised on
the sale of a £6 million recruitment firm.
Andrew Breeze of RSM Tenon, assisted by Carl Swansbury, advised
Portsmouth-based Wild Recruitment in the sale of the business to
Berry Recruitment, which has plans to grow to a £50 million
business.
Wild, a £6 million turnover firm, was founded in 2001 by
Kim Way, who came from a recruitment background with major players
in the sector. Wild was advised during the deal by RSM Tenon, which
has an expertise in the recruitment sector
Andy said: "Wild was looking to sell and we worked with Kim and
the team to find out their requirements. When we approached Berry
it became immediately apparent that the cultural fit of the two
businesses would be ideal.
"Kim, Michelle Stewart and the senior management team had grown
Wild significantly and profitably. However the company reached the
stage where Kim felt the future growth of the business would best
be achieved under the ownership of a larger, national business.
"Wild has a strong regional presence and a great reputation.
They have a range of high quality public and private clients, and
supply staff into five divisions: customer services and sales,
office and professional, industrial and technical, and senior
selection."
Berry has a head office in St Albans and a total of 23 sites
UK-wide. With a current turnover in excess of £30 million and
with specialist divisions in office and IT, industrial,
construction, rail, technical and catering Berry Recruitment has
plans to grow further.
Chairman Tony Berry, who floated Blue Arrow Recruitment,
believes that the Wild acquisition was more of an 'amalgamation'
which was a great fit culturally and geographically.
Tony said: "Wild is a specialist in the contact centres sector
which is a service that Berry was looking for and we were impressed
by Wild's management team. We see this deal as significantly
enhancing our business and our service to clients.
Wild was indentified as an attractive business and very well run
- it is one of the best run firms I have come across. It is a
wonderful fit for Berry."
