Worksop welcomes Russian delegation

A delegation from Russia recently descended on Worksop for a guided tour of one the town's most well-known firms.

Worksop Galvanizing, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, welcomed a group from the Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers (RUMSS) together with the Russian Steel Constructional Association (RSCA), which is travelling across the UK as part of a collaborative business programme.

The programme aims to establish a mutually beneficial partnership where knowledge of British and Russian experience in design, manufacture, and applications of steel structures, technical regulation, standardization and development will be shared.

A full tour of the plant was given by the senior team at Worksop Galvanizing, including Sales Manager Paul Robinson and General Manager Ben Calvert. "It was a real honour to welcome such a large group of steel and metal suppliers from overseas, and to be included in their UK-wide tour" explained Paul Robinson.

"The group spent the afternoon on site and saw first-hand our technologically-advanced facilities, as well as our 21 metre bath which is the largest in the UK and which has the capacity to galvanize steelwork up to 29 metres. Feedback was really positive and they certainly seemed impressed by what they'd seen" he concluded.

Wedge Group Galvanizing is the largest hot dip galvanizing organisation in the UK with a history dating back over 150 years. With 14 plants strategically placed across the country, they offer a truly national galvanizing service. For further information please contact Wedge Group Galvanizing on 01902 630311.
