Wolves fans can now top up their mobile phone thanks to an
innovative new deal which sees the club become the first Barclays
Premier League team to introduce a branded mobile phone
network.
The club is the first premiership football team to benefit from
a new style network which brings cheaper pay as you go tariffs for
its loyal customers. The move follows similar deals offered by
major European clubs including Benfica and Paris Saint German.
The Wolves mobile network (www.wolvesmobile.co.uk) entitles fans
to buy fully branded pay as you go SIM cards and benefit from at
least 50 per cent less in call charges than the average pay as you
go customer.
Fans can also benefit from exclusive deals and discounts, the
first being a match ticket giveaway for Wolves v Stoke on 17th
December 2011. This exclusive giveaway is an introductory offer
based on pre-orders of Wolves mobile SIM cards and available whilst
stocks last.
Wolves head of commercial affairs Paul Lakin said "We are
delighted to offer our fans a Wolves mobile pay as you go SIM card
that first and foremost provides outstanding value and network
coverage.
"In today's climate it is essential we provide our fans with the
very best products in the marketplace and I'm sure our fans will
enjoy the volume of calls that can be made by purchasing Wolves
mobile SIM cards."
A Mobile Virtual Network is one where organisations are
permitted to use the infrastructure and support from the major
mobile phone networks under their own name. Wolves Mobile has been
set up by communications experts Team Sims, who specialise in
working with sports organisations at all levels - from grass roots
clubs to major teams.
As well as Wolves, Team Sims are in the process of setting up
similar networks for a number of other Premier League, and Football
League clubs.
Team Sims technical manager Spencer Middleton said: "These are
exciting times for sports clubs as they tap into the marketing and
sales potential of their own branded network. But of course in many
people's eyes, it's the benefits the network brings the fans that
will have the biggest impact.
"We're delighted to have forged this working partnership with
Wolves and thank them for their trust and belief in our technical
expertise. We look forward to a future of increased benefits to
fans and community pluses for the club thanks to its own branded
network."
