A West Midlands accountancy firm swapped oars for steering
wheels as they geared up for their latest charity
challenge.
Spencer Gardner Dickins, based on Coventry Innovation Village on
Cheetah Road in the city, held three nights of racing at Ace
Karting in Nuneaton to support its charity of the year Myton
Hospice.
Over the last 12 months the firm has also taken on a canoeing
challenge, a marathon race, and held dress down days and raffles -
raising around £5,500 in the process.
Around 100 clients and associates of Spencer Gardner Dickins
took part in the third annual go-karting event held at the in-door
track in Hartshill.
And teams from Windsor Garage, Lloyds Banking Group and CV2 Self
Drive had reason to celebrate after topping the podium on each of
the three nights.
David Thomas, partner at Spencer Gardner Dickins, said: "We're
pleased so many of our clients and associates could join us to help
support a really special cause.
"Myton Hospice needs to raise around £7 million every year
to continue to offer their amazing service to patients across the
area and we are delighted to have been able to support them over
the last few years.
"Once again we enjoyed three nights of keenly contested racing
in a good spirit and we'd like to thank everyone who took part and
Ace Karting for their tremendous support.
"Over the last year or so our team have done everything from the
Three Peaks Challenge and the Brighton Marathon, to a 30km canoeing
challenge and we look forward to getting involved in more
activities to raise as much we can for the charity."
