West Midlands manufacturing businesses and their rising young
stars have shown what they're made of as winners of the EEF
Midlands Region Future Manufacturing Awards 2011.
The five West Midlands winners were:
The Outstanding Export Award Winner: The Binding Site
Group Limited, Birmingham
The Innovative Operating Practices Award Winner: Jaguar Land
Rover, Coventry
The Climate Change Opportunity Award Winner: Alumet
Systems (UK) Ltd, Warwickshire
The Outstanding Achievement by a First Year Apprentice
Winner: Philip Pendrigh, HS Marston Aerospace
Ltd,Wolverhampton
The Outstanding Achievement by a Final Year Apprentice Winner:
Michael Williams, Severn Trent Water, Coventry
The annual awards are hosted by EEF, the manufacturers'
organisation, and recognise excellence in enterprise, innovation,
environmental performance and skills development among UK
manufacturers.
Richard Halstead, EEF Midlands Regional Director, said:
"Manufacturing is crucial to the West Midland's economic recovery.
These award winning companies and talented young individuals are
leading the way and demonstrate the resilience and excellence of
our industry. Congratulations to all of them on their well
deserved success."
All of the winners will go forward to compete against other
regional winners from across the UK in EEF's National Awards final,
to take place on 26 January 2012 in London.
