Waldeck is hoping to score a hat-trick at the Northamptonshire
Business Excellence Awards 2011 later this month.
The firm of multi-disciplinary consulting engineers, which
recently won Consulting Engineer of the Year at the Builder &
Engineer Awards 2011, has been shortlisted for three awards:
Business of the Year (over 50 employees), the Environmental Award
and the Community Investment Award.
The results will be announced during a gala dinner hosted by Tom
O'Connor at the Barceló Hotel in Daventry on 17th November.
The awards, which are in their 21st year, are organised by
Northamptonshire Newspapers Limited in association with the
Northamptonshire Chamber and sponsored by the Northamptonshire
Enterprise Partnership.
Firmly established as a highlight of the Northamptonshire
business calendar, the awards will once again celebrate successful
Northamptonshire companies and individuals and offer an excellent
opportunity for all business sectors to meet, be inspired and
showcase their achievements to their peers.
Head of Developer Services at Waldeck in Northampton Tony
Chapman said: "Being shortlisted for one award is an achievement,
never mind three! The Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards
are closely contested and it's an honour just to be among the
finalists.
"The construction industry is still trying to recover from the
devastating effects of the recession but we've managed to succeed
where others have failed thanks to our creative approach to
engineering.
"Waldeck has been instrumental in helping to get a number of
projects off the ground over the past 12 months, including a
348,000 square foot distribution centre and office development at
Grange Park which will create up to 600 jobs and a housing
development on Banbury Lane.
"As well as our staff, who've worked exceptionally hard, we'd
also like to thank our customers and suppliers for their continued
support."
Waldeck has also been shortlisted for Business of the Year in
the medium category at the Evening Telegraph Business Awards in
Peterborough on Friday 18th November.
Over 300 guests are expected to attend the awards ceremony at
the East of England Showground hosted by award-winning columnist,
presenter and producer Paul Ross.
Managing Director Paul Waldeck said: "In October we won a major
national award at the Builder & Engineer Awards 2011 and we're
hoping we can emulate that success at a local level in Northampton
and Peterborough.
"Given the volume and standard of entries we feel very proud
just to have been shortlisted but winning one if not all of the
awards would be the icing on the cake."
