UGroup, the Wolverhampton based contact centre business, has
appointed a new chief executive and board director to drive the
company's expansion into new markets.
Suresh Bawa joins UGroup to work alongside managing director
Karen Chilton in developing new products and distribution channels
for the business which has witnessed impressive sales growth since
its formation 21 months ago.
The company has recently moved to newly refurbished headquarters
at Mander House in Wolverhampton city centre and now employs more
than 160 contact centre staff, account managers and analysts.
Suresh brings with him a wealth of experience in marketing,
customer lead acquisition and new business development.
After starting his career in advertising sales and marketing at
the Express & Star newspaper, Suresh held senior posts at Extra
Personnel and was one of the founding directors of Promise Finance
which was established in 2003 following a management buy-out from
Purple Loans.
He is also one of the founding trustees of the Wolverhampton
based charity Promise Dreams and through his many business
interests has developed extensive experience in onshore and
off-shore call centres, lead acquisition and data management.
Through its Ucall contact centre, UGroup manages customer
relationships for a host of blue chip organisations in the finance
and insurance sectors, while its Uclaim4me subsidiary is heavily
involved in helping customers manage claims for the miss-selling of
payment protection insurance (PPI) policies.
Suresh will be responsible for spearheading the company's
diversification by developing new product offerings in the
insurance, finance, leisure and lifestyle sectors.
Commenting on his appointment, Suresh said: "UGroup is an
exciting business which has created a tremendous platform for the
distribution of a range of new products using leading edge
processes within the contact centre industry.
"My experience in customer acquisition and the development of
strategic commercial partnerships, including overseas call centre
operations, will complement the existing management team and I'm
looking forward to building the company further through the
introduction of new business to business and business to consumer
channels.
Karen Chilton added: "I have known and worked with Suresh
for many years and his marketing and business expertise will be
invaluable as we look to build on what has been a very positive
start for UGroup."
