National law firm Gateley, has appointed three new solicitors to
strengthen its corporate, commercial dispute resolution and
pensions teams in Birmingham.
Jenna Ostrowski joins the corporate team from the Birmingham
office of Shoosmiths where she was a trainee, qualifying as a
solicitor in September. Kate Ashwood takes up a position in
Gateley's corporate dispute resolution team following three years
at Leamington Spa based Wright Hassall. Jill Walters joins the
firm's pensions team having previously worked for Hammonds.
The appointments follow a successful year for Gateley, which has
seen the firm enter into the top 50 national law firms for the
first time. The Midlands corporate team was also crowned 2011
Corporate Law Firm of the Year at the Midlands Dealmakers Awards in
September and has recently been shortlisted for Regional Law Firm
of the Year in the 2011 British Legal Awards.
Michael Ward, is the firm's senior partner in England and heads
up the corporate team. Commenting on the appointments he
said: "We welcome Jenna, Kate and Jill on board and are
delighted they have joined us at a busy and exciting time for the
firm. Recruiting talented, commercially minded people is a
vital part of our business's success and one of the clearest
demonstrations we can make of our commitment to providing clients
with the very best service. We hope they enjoy a long and
successful career with us.
"Despite a challenging market we have continued to invest in the
heart of our business, our people. We promoted 32 employees
at the start of the financial year and in addition to these three
new appointments we have taken on 14 trainee solicitors as part of
our trainee scheme. Five of our newly qualified solicitors have
also taken up seats with the firm. This is testament to their hard
work and commitment and demonstrates our reputation for being a
great place to work."
