The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has announced that their
annual conference will be held at the ICC next year from 9th-10th
September.
The RPS conference is the showpiece event in the society's
calendar offering a diverse range of topics from all sectors in
pharmacy. Leading professionals will come together to share the
latest offerings from pharmacy research and a large exhibition will
showcase new products and services offered by the pharmaceutical
industry.
Phillip McShane, Events Development Manager, Royal
Pharmaceutical Society said, "As the professional body for
pharmacists and pharmacy we've been listening to what our members
want. They told us they wanted our annual conference to be in an
exciting, engaging and easily accessible venue. The ICC offers us
that opportunity. We now have over 44,000 members from across
England, Scotland and Wales, so Birmingham felt like the natural
home for the conference and we are delighted to be working with the
ICC to develop what will be a fantastic showcase event for pharmacy
practice."
Paul Rutherford, General Manager, the ICC, said, "It is
brilliant news that the RPS have decided to hold their annual
conference with us. More and more associations of this type are
choosing the ICC as their preferred venue; we pride ourselves on
offering the level of service organisations of this type expect
when they hold a key event".
The RPS is the dedicated professional body for pharmacists and
pharmacy in England, Scotland and Wales providing leadership,
support and development to its members.
It ensures the voice of the profession is heard and actively
promoted in the development and delivery of healthcare policy and
work to raise the profile of the profession. The RPS is the only
body which represents all sectors of pharmacy in Great Britain.
