The heart of Birmingham's business district will soon be home to
a new, Indian fine dining restaurant from Saffron.
Saffron Restaurant Group has taken a long term lease on the 250
m² ground floor of 126 Colmore Row in Birmingham. Housed in
the attractive period building, the new 60 seat restaurant takes
over from the former Cafe Uno and is conveniently located moments
from the Town Hall Symphony Hall.
The 60 cover restaurant, led by Chef Patron Sudha Saha, will
serve contemporary Indian dishes in the exacting presentation
style of French cuisine. Lunch, Pre-theatre, A la Carte and a five
course Tasting menu will change quarterly, to reflect dishes
inspired by seasonal ingredients.
Saffron Managing Director Aklasul Momin said "We already have
two successful neighbourhood restaurants in Worcester and Odlbury
and felt that the time is right to expand to the heart of
Birmingham with our style of Indian fine dining. We'll be in
great company with Asha's and Lasan close by, especially as there
is a growing appetite for exceptionally high quality Indian cuisine
by local businesses and visitors to the city."
Jointly owned by Managing Director Aklasul Momin, Limon Rahman
and Chef Patron Sudha Saha, Saffron will create 12 jobs when it
opens at the end of November.
