The Midlands-based health insurer and employee benefits provider
BHSF has appointed a champion to boost its profile among the
growing and influential Asian business community.
Sabiha Ahmed will be promoting the not-for-profit company's
products across Birmingham, the West Midlands and the rest of the
UK.
Brian Hall, BHSF's Sales and Marketing Director, says that there
have been many changes in the company's home city of Birmingham
during its 138-year-old history.
"As the city's population mix has changed, so has the nature of
Birmingham's business and business leaders", he said.
"It is not that we do not do business in the Asian business
sector, but it is the first time we have made it a specific focus
for our activities.
"We have got off to a terrific start. Sabiha has made some good
contacts and we are learning all the while".
Sabiha has over five years sales experience, is fluent in Hindi
and Marathi and has a Master of Business Administration degree from
Aston University.
Brian said: "We were founded to aid the health and welfare of
the working people in Birmingham and it is important that we reach
employers across a diverse range, to ensure we continue to do
so."
The Institute of Asian Business, which works in concert with
Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, was set-up over 20 years ago to
represent the aims and views of the Asian business community and
IAB Chairman Nasir Awan has welcomed BHSF's initiative.
"We are pleased to see BHSF moving to embrace the Asian business
community more fully," he said.
"We have met with Sabiha, offering advice and answering
questions on communications and other matters. We were pleased to
host BHSF at the recent IAB Eid Celebration and welcomed them to
the IAB Diwali Celebration".
BHSF's principal activity is the provision of cover for
employees against the cost of optical, dental, therapy treatment
costs and the like.
Recently, the firm has moved to offer solutions in areas such as
workplace stress, occupational health, flexible benefits, and
low-cost assistance and lifestyle benefits. For more information
