An addition to its team of hygienists has brought an unexpected
surge of new patients for a leading Shrewsbury dental clinic.
The Dental Spa on Oxon Business Park recruited Pauline Gates
after The Dental Clinic at Optical Express where she worked on
Pride Hill closed down. What they did not realise at the time was
that Pauline's patients would miss her so much that they would
follow her to her new place of work.
Pauline, who lives in Prees, began her career as a dental nurse
in the Army where she worked in the oral surgery department at
Woolwich Military Hospital. She later studied at the Royal Dental
School of Dental Hygiene, gaining a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in
1985.
After a spell in the US Pauline returned to the UK twenty years
ago and settled in Shropshire where she has worked in both general
dentistry and referral practices. She is a member of the British
Dental Hygienists Association, the British Dental Health Foundation
and the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Welcoming Pauline to The Dental Spa, which is the hub practice
for Velvet Group, Practice Manager Deb Price said: "Motivated by
the challenges of helping patients to achieve healthy mouths and
smiles to be proud of, Pauline has fitted in well with the rest of
our expanding team and has a particular interest in helping nervous
patients to gain confidence and feel in control of what is
happening in their mouths. Clearly these attributes have gained her
an enviable reputation as many of her former patients have followed
her to The Dental Spa. "
