A Cannock based removal company is back in local ownership
following a management buyout from its holding company.
John Lomas Removals has been a recognised name within the
Midlands for over twenty years, but it has been in the ownership of
Edinburgh based Clockwork Holdings Group since 2007.
The recently completed MBO led by Rob Horrobin has seen the
company, situated in Ridings Park off Eastern Way in Cannock,
become independent once again.
Rob Horrobin has worked for the company for over thirteen years
having started as a Removals Operative in 1998. Over that time he
progressed up the ranks and into management, and at the time of the
MBO Rob was the Branch Manager at Cannock.
Now Managing Director, Rob Horrobin commented: "As a management
team we are excited about the growth prospects for the business.
John Lomas Removals already has a strong presence within the
midlands, but we are not going to rest on our laurels as we have
ambitious plans to grow the business over the years to come."
Legal advice was provided by Lichfield and Cannock law firm
Ansons, with Corporate Solicitor Jas Singh being lead advisor to
the MBO team.
"The majority of company sales which I act for tend to be where
a large national or multinational company buys a smaller
independent, so to have advised Rob and his MBO team was very
rewarding. This MBO has allowed the previous owners to hand the
business over to an experienced team who know the company and
market very well," commented Mr Singh.
