The Birmingham office of leading accountancy firm PKF is over
three quarters of the way towards its latest charity appeal target
after holding a successful quiz night.
Over 50 local businesses took part in the contest, which was
held at The Ropewalk in St Paul's Square on 18 October. The event
was won by the team from GE Capital who pipped a team from George
Green LLP into second place following a tiebreak.
PKF Partners and staff have committed to raising £10,000
towards the Marie Curie Big Build Appeal for a new hospice. Marie
Curie's Big Build Appeal is a two-year fundraising campaign to
raise £7 million for a new hospice for the West Midlands. The
new hospice will provide fantastic facilities, increased patient
capacity and expanded day care and outpatient services. With their
own individual, en-suite rooms, patients will have the privacy and
dignity they deserve as well as space to spend time with their
families. The current total raised by PKF stands at just over
£8,750.
Sarah Moss, Partner at PKF, said:
"Nothing gets the competitive spirit burning like a quiz night
and this event was no different! Congratulations to everyone
who took part - you're all winners because you're all helping to
support an extremely good cause.
"With the success of the quiz, along with our other fundraising
efforts, we're hoping that we'll exceed the £10,000 target we
set ourselves for the year and would like to thank everyone who has
supported us. Marie Curie makes a huge difference to cancer
sufferers and their families throughout the region and we will
continue to work hard to ensure that their Big Build Appeal is a
success."
