Mansfield Sand Company Ltd is celebrating today after scooping
both the Manufacturing and Business of the year Award at last
week's prestigious Chad Business Awards.
The Award Ceremony, held at the John Fretwell Centre in
Sookholme, Mansfield, was organised in association with Specsavers,
Sutton, to recognise excellence in business across the Chad
newspaper circulation area. The evening began with a
champagne reception, followed by a four course meal and the eagerly
awaited awards ceremony, which was presented by Tracy Powell,
Editor of the Chad newspaper and Gary Blurton, Advertising
Director.
Mansfield Sand beat off tough competition to be presented with
the Manufacturing Company of the Year Award and the overall
Business of the Year Award. The Mansfield-based company, which has
been quarrying in Mansfield for over one hundred years, specialises
in developing high quality unique sand-based products and surfaces
for a variety of landscape and sporting uses including Premiership
and Championship football stadiums, equestrian ménages; golf
courses; and rugby stadiums.
"We are absolutely thrilled to receive these awards. They are
testament to the hard work and dedication the whole team, as well
as our local suppliers, have put in over the past twelve months,
which has helped to make the company a market leader", explains Jon
Boulton, Managing Director of Mansfield Sand Company Ltd.
"It has been a testing year for many businesses in the local
area as the economic climate has and continues to affect the
spending of consumers and companies alike. However we have
continued to invest money in our manufacturing facilities to secure
the future of the company and employment in Mansfield for many
years to come," continues Jon.
