Derby-based recruitment specialist Macildowie is hoping to find
new positions for over 70 employees of credit card company Egg who
face redundancy.
Having previously worked with Egg, members of the Macildowie
team were called in to the Pride Park offices to take part in an
outplacement day, which saw those affected by the cuts getting
advice on vacant positions in the area.
The session resulted in over 70 potential candidates for new
roles, who are now undergoing sessions on CVs and interview
preparation with Macildowie consultants before meeting prospective
employers.
Commenting on the event, James Calder, director at Macildowie,
said:
"Alongside HR and supply chain and procurement, finance is one
of our three specialist areas of recruitment, so we're well placed
to help those Egg employees facing redundancy.
"The response from the outplacement day was extremely positive
and our team is already well on its way to helping many into new
roles.
"Everyone is all too aware that redundancies have become more
common following the economic instability, but it's about moving
quickly, keeping up morale, exploring new opportunities and showing
candidates that there are suitable roles for them out there."
The outplacement day was also attended by a number of other
Derby-based businesses, including Rolls Royce, Molson Coors and
Pattonair.
