A conference sales manager with wide ranging industry experience
is the latest to join the team at one of the Midlands' leading
events groups.
Linda Hill has been appointed as Group Conference Sales Manager
for the Southwater Event Group team.
The Group owns The International Centre, Telford, and as well as
selling events at the main venue, Linda will also be responsible
for selling the Group's two conference hotels for meetings and
events - Grays Hotel and The Holiday Inn.
"I am extremely pleased to have been given the opportunity to
join such a forward-looking and dynamic events group that has some
very exciting plans for the future," said Linda.
"Work is already under way to create a thriving convention
quarter with The International Centre at its heart, and I'm looking
forward to encouraging event organisers to come along and see how
much the area has to offer."
Linda has previously worked at the 4-star Belfry conference,
golf, and leisure resort as a sales manager and assistant revenue
manager.
She joins the Southwater team from her position as sales and
marketing manager at the University of Wolverhampton, and has also
worked as a UK venue finder and event manager.
Southwater Event Group chief executive, Tom Gray, said: "Linda's
experience means she brings a wealth of industry knowledge and
expertise to our team, and she has joined us at a very exciting
time.
"We're working closely with Telford & Wrekin Council to
ensure the new convention quarter is brought to life and that new
bars, restaurants and a new hotel are created to deliver a vibrant
night-time economy right outside our front door."
The Group has also just unveiled a brand new 1300 sq m events
space - the Ludlow Suite - taking its capacity to over 15,000 sq m
of flexible space, which means it can host all kinds of events from
small boardroom meetings right through to large scale conferences
and exhibitions.
