The Halesowen branch of National Mobile Windscreens at Shenstone Trading Estate has helped to raise £5,000 for the Meningitis Research Foundation by taking part in a marathon sponsored walk.

Autoglass engineer Gary Hobbs aged 49 took part in the first stage of the 66-mile walk from Redditch to the MRF HQ at Thornbury, Soputh Gloucestershire, in June which was organised as part of the Bristol-based company's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Gary joined Managing Director Phil Lomas and other managers and staff for the first day of the five-day walk that raised £2,500, which was matched by the company in support of its favourite charity.

Martyn Bennett, Sales and Marketing Director, who walked on Day Four, said: "MRF has been our chosen charity for the past 20 years and we have helped to raise nearly £15,000 towards research into this deadly disease."

Kate Baldwin, Corporate & Development Fundraising officer at Meningitis Research Foundation said: "We're so grateful to National Mobile Windscreens for all their support over the years, and especially this fantastic effort through their sponsored walk."
