A team from Lloyds TSB Commercial in the South Midlands swopped
their business suits for wellington boots recently to help a
Daventry-based charity run residential care home tidy and prepare
its grounds for the winter months.
As part of Lloyds TSB Commercial's 'Day to Make a Difference'
initiative, whereby the bank's employees volunteer to assist a
charity or local community project, the team spent the day working
in the grounds of Solden Hill House Care Home.
The seven strong team worked alongside the care home's gardener
and maintenance expert Clive Upton to help in the care home's
grounds, where they were involved in clearing away the garden's
overgrown flowerbeds and digging over the borders that surround the
rear and side of the home.
Solden Hill House is an independent residential care home, which
specialises in the care and training of adults with learning
difficulties. It is home to 28 full time residents.
Elaine Colwell, healthcare relationship manager for Lloyds TSB
Commercial in the South Midlands, said:
"Our 'Day to Make a Difference' programme enables us to spend
time volunteering for a charity or worthy local community project.
Our work at Solden Hill House was both enjoyable and rewarding and
we were very pleased to hear that the residents were so delighted
with the work that was completed."
Delia Thomas, the administrator of Solden Hill House care home
added:
"The team from Lloyds TSB Commercial team worked exceptionally
hard in the grounds of the care home to help tidy and improve the
surroundings for our residents and we all really appreciate the
time and effort that they invested."
