Baker Tilly has bolstered its Corporate Finance team with the appointment of Sukhi Johal as Associate Director, as the firm continues to experience increasing demand in this area.

Having previously worked within the Corporate Finance team of Baker Tilly for a number of years and Big 4 Chartered Accountants, Sukhi is returning to Baker Tilly following six years spent in the corporate and investment banking sector.

Initially joining HBoS from Baker Tilly in 2005, Sukhi spent two years working on transactions in the mid market Corporate and PLC sectors. In August 2007 she joined the Corporate and Structured Finance Team of the Icelandic investment bank, Kaupthing, and most recently worked at Royal Bank of Scotland within the Global Restructuring Team. This latest role saw her advising a wide ranging portfolio of businesses, which had fallen outside the bank's normal lending criteria, on options such as accelerated sales, re-financing, restructuring and exits.

In her new position Sukhi's existing skills will be utilised across the broad variety of client sectors which Baker Tilly currently operates. In addition, to further developing the firm's undertaking of Lead Advisory work for owner managed and large corporate businesses.

Commenting on her appointment, Sukhi says: "I am delighted to have returned to Baker Tilly and to have the opportunity to use the skills and expertise I have gained, across a diverse range of transactions the firm advises on".

Nick Weston, Baker Tilly Corporate Finance Partner, adds: "I am delighted that Sukhi has returned to our team. The combined knowledge and experience she has in both Corporate Finance advisory and Corporate Banking will further strengthen the insight and expertise that we provide to our clients and give us additional capacity to meet the growing demand for our services."
