to be stretched, weddings have often had to become a much more
private affair as not everyone can afford to splash their cash in
the traditional way. The Maynard has recognised this problem and
has introduced a new package for January, February and November
2012. The Maynard and sister venue Whirlowbrook Hall are helping

'The package includes wedding reception room hire, arrival and
toast drink, house wine with the meal, three course dinner and a
disco for 35 guests. Additional guests can be added to the package
and the venue is also licensed for civil ceremonies.
"Although the excitement from last year's Royal Wedding gave
many couples a timely wedding boost, many are still feeling the
pinch of the credit crunch. We have introduced this package so you
can still get married in style and make the most of your big day -
on a limited budget," says Jane Hitchman, director of The Maynard
and Whirlowbrook Hall.
An average wedding can cost anywhere between £11,000 and
£16,000, so there is no surprise many young couples can be
put off by the daunting figures. This is why The Maynard has
relaunched its pricing of many wedding packages with discounts
already built in, for weddings around the year.
If the couple wish to add any extras to their wedding such as
chair covers, evening snacks at the disco or upgrading to Champagne
for the toast, the wedding co-ordinator can be contacted and shall

Other packages which have been designed with flexibility in
mind, allowing everything from the room/s, guest numbers and menus
to be tailored to personal tastes and requirements and with many
lovely touches based on experience. These include not operating a
minimum numbers policy for the wedding breakfast, (the hotel knows
how difficult this can be to know beforehand) plus a selection of
menus that - rather than remaining the same - change seasonally
with whatever produce is available locally.
