Edmond Shipway, the multi-disciplinary construction consultancy
based in Nottingham, have been appointed project managers and cost
management consultants for a number of major new hotel projects
around the country which have a combined value of over
£24m.
The largest of these is a £14m hotel at Bristol Airport
for the Lynxs Group LLC. The 251 room Park Inn will provide
the airport with its first on-site hotel and, with sustainability
high on the building agenda, the aim is to achieve a BREEAM rating
of 'very good'. Edmond Shipway will be working as Employer's Agent
with responsibility for delivering the build project for the client
as well as procuring and managing the fit out. Work is due to
commence in late 2011 with completion expected by spring 2013.
Other contracts awarded also involve Edmond Shipway providing
Employer's Agent services at several other new hotel builds around
the UK. These include a 204 bedroom Novotel hotel in Brentford, a
Holiday Inn Express at Harlow in Essex and a 120 bed Ibis hotel in
Gillingham.
David Stevenson, director at Edmond Shipway said: "I am
delighted that we are continuing to secure high profile contracts
in a difficult and competitive market. Our hotel team's reputation
for delivering projects on time and at best value across many
international brands is providing us with a strong pipeline for
2012."
