Dyson quality shines through for 911

A high quality finish that's been proven to stand the test of time brought Scottish operator 911 Rescue Recovery back to Roger Dyson for the latest additions to its growing fleet.

The new arrivals are both Hydraloader 5000Sla slidebeds which offer a class leading approach angle of just 4.9 degrees, allowing them to recover even ground-hugging supercars without risk of damage. Each also includes a second vehicle lift.

They were fitted at Roger Dyson's production facility in Droitwich, Worcestershire, to a pair of 12-tonne MAN TGL crewcab chassis.

The latest slidebeds have joined a fleet of nearly 50 recovery vehicles, which includes everything from motorcycles to a single 26-tonne truck, the overwhelming majority of which were built by Roger Dyson.

The manufacturer is currently processing another order from 911, for a twin-decked Hydraloader, to be mounted on an 18-tonne MAN day cab chassis. With a 30ft long platform this will be capable of carrying up to three cars, and a fourth on the second vehicle lift.

911 Rescue Recovery Managing Director Stephen Greenhorn says: "I always get what I want from Dyson. Roger tells me my vehicles are very highly specified, with features such as bespoke lockers to house all the equipment and controls, but it's important to me that every piece of equipment has its place.

"I'm also very impressed with the paint finish, which is of a very high quality and extremely hard-wearing. One of my trucks with Dyson equipment is over 10 years old and the paintwork is still immaculate."

Mr Greenhorn continues: "Dyson's after sales service is excellent too. We very rarely have any problems with any of its vehicles but if there is an issue I know it will be sorted quickly and without fuss. And the parts availability is first class."

911 Rescue Recovery operates from Glasgow and has recently expanded its operations, opening a new depot at Bothwell, Lanarkshire, just off the M74. As well as working for the major breakdown clubs, insurance companies and Strathclyde Police, the company runs a mobile tyre fitting service and a large vehicle workshop. This includes a dedicated Tachograph Centre for calibration, sales and servicing of analogue and digital tachographs, and an Authorised Test Facility for carrying out VOSA tests on class 4, 5 and 7 commercial vehicles.
