The directors of a Lincolnshire property development company, who have scaled the heights of Africa, are appealing for more donations to help them reach their peak.

Leigh Hall and Dean Wann from Manorcrest Homes in Skegness recently conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, raising over £12,500 for charities Macmillan Cancer Support and When You Wish Upon a Star.

It took just 12 days (14th to 25th October) for the intrepid business partners to reach Uhuru Peak, 5,895 metres above sea level at the summit of Africa's tallest mountain, and to make the descent.

Leigh said: "We conquered Kilimanjaro and we certainly have the aches and pains to prove it! It really was a challenge but we made it and we're so pleased to have raised nearly £13,000 for Macmillan and When You Wish Upon a Star - two very worthy causes."

Dean continued: "We would like to extend our thanks to each and every one of the people and businesses who have sponsored us already but we're still raising money in the hope of reaching our target of £20,000.

"If you'd like to make a donation please visit our JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/teams/leighanddeanclimbkilimanjaro and register a pledge."

Macmillan Cancer Support offers help to patients, carers and families dealing with cancer. The charity provides guidance, practical and emotional support, financial assistance and funding for nurses and other professional health care specialists.

When You Wish Upon a Star is a charity which works to grant the wishes of children aged from two to 16 years with terminal or life-threatening illnesses.

Leigh and Dean first established Manorcrest Homes in 1996 and the company was recently awarded second place in the Daily Telegraph British Homes BuildQuality Awards in the Medium Development Category for the Lumley Fields development in Skegness.

Manorcrest Homes was also nominated for the LABC (New Home Warranty Awards) for Excellence 2011 in the category of Development of the Year (1-10 units) and in 2010 won LABC Best Developer of the Year.

Exciting times are ahead for Leigh and Dean as they prepare for the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln on Brayford Wharf North later this year.

Along with Richard Farrar, who runs independent hotel management company leaf HOSPITALITY, Leigh and Dean have formed Brayford Hotels - the company behind the hotel development.
