Willmott Dixon Partnerships in Birmingham has been showing
health and safety specialists from around the UK that working on
tall buildings doesn't always have to involve ladders and
scaffolding.
The leading repairs and maintenance company has been showcasing
the very latest equipment as alternative ways of safe working at
height.
Willmott Dixon's Partnerships Birmingham north branch hosted a
'Working at Heights' training day for its own workforce and
employees of their social housing clients from throughout the
country.
Leading access equipment companies demonstrated their equipment
and the services they have on offer, helping safety decision makers
to see the different options available for working up to 100 feet
off the ground.
The aim was to show the modern options available to provide a
safe, cost effective alternative to ladders and scaffolding.
It was also a chance for the branch, based in the Kingstanding
area of Birmingham, to show off their fresh approaches to working
at height with an aluminium tower and advanced guardrail
demonstration.
Chris Dancer, health, safety and environment manager for
Willmott Dixon Partnerships, says, "We organised this event so our
employees will have the information to enable them to select the
most appropriate access equipment, to make working at height safer,
simpler and more cost effective. It gave staff and visitors the
opportunity to view and try out the equipment, including ladder
safety systems, Aluminium tower scaffolds, Staircase towers as well
going up 100 feet in a 'Cherry Picker'.
"We'd like to thank Safestand, Speedy hire, EPL Skylift, Travis
Perkins, Easi-Dec, Worksafe and HAKI System Scaffolding for taking
the time to spend the day with us and spread the safety message to
our staff."
