Owners Andrew Hill and David Stone, have appointed Paul Martin
as the Company Managing Director of Colwick based construction
company William Hill Building Contractors.
Mr. Paul Martin (48) from the Vale of Belvoir has worked with
the firm since 2007 as Contracts Manager then General Manager and
in his new role will oversee the company's continuing expansion in
Nottingham, the East Midlands and the Home Counties. His early
career included project management in conservation for English
Heritage and commercial contracts with blue chip clients such as BT
and National Tyres. After 25 years in the industry he is especially
keen to pursue his interest in the use of green technology in
construction and the design process, working closely with Clients
and their Architects.
Commenting on his new role, Paul says: "I will continue to base
the company's performance on delivering high quality design coupled
with quality workmanship to individual projects, whether it is a
'Grand Design high spec' new home project, a Church rectory, a
listed stately home or the refurbishment of a much loved community
facility. Our reputation for delivering exceptional work in
partnership with our customers underpins our commercial success and
I will build on this along with enhancing our reputation."
William Hill Builders is now one of the oldest, if not the
oldest, building and construction company in Nottingham. Founded in
1875, the company maintained its strong commitment to the
employment and training of local tradesmen despite the depression,
upheavals of two World Wars, recessions and fierce competition from
much larger competitors. Encouraging a new generation of skilled
joiners, bricklayers and decorators is central to William Hill's
ethos and commitment to local apprenticeships. Fourth-generation
family member and Chairman Andrew Hill, along with Co-Director
David Stone, are now passing the hands-on management and, with
their support, the future development of this family firm to Paul
Martin.
Andy Hill said: "Paul knows the business very well and is highly
respected by our clients as well as industry professionals,
including architects who work closely with us. In a challenging
market, where providing quality service and value for money remain
vital, and is often the difference between success or failure,
I know Paul will ably lead our company for everyone's benefit
and will allow the name of William Hill to continue for a long time
to come. This Managing Directorship is in due recognition of Paul's
successful achievements with us. David and I wish him well."
