Derbyshire firm Wildgoose Construction has completed a Derby pub
and family dining facility which is due to open later this
month.
The Ashover-based firm started work in April on the Blue Jay
pub, at Derby Commercial Park in Raynesway, for brewer and pub
operator Marston's.
The 250-cover Milestone Magnum Carvery is scheduled to open on
October 17th 2011.
Wildgoose was one of three contractors selected to build 60 new
pubs for Marston's Inns and Taverns, the managed house arm of
Marston's, by the end of 2012.
It is hoped that the Derby pub will create around 50 new jobs
and become the main eatery for the 180-acre commercial park.
Wildgoose has also completed a pub in Mansfield and one in
Nantwich, Cheshire, for Marston's as part of the deal.
Tim Walker, Wildgoose Construction's managing director, said:
"We are delighted to be partnering with Marston's on their
programme of works to build new public houses and restaurants
throughout the country.
"Our company has long been associated with the licensed retails
sector and has brought that experience to the Marston's projects,
ensuring that the fast-track programmes are met and the quality of
finish is exceptional.
"Marston's is both a leading name and brand within the industry
and it is a testament to their brand strength that they are
undertaking this investment and we are proud to be part of that
success."
Ed Hancock, Marston's Inns and Taverns estates director, said:
"We're extremely excited about our latest pub, which we hope
will build a great reputation locally, offering top quality pub
food and an unrivalled selection of drinks, including cask ales
from our own breweries across the country."
