Nowill (nee Mitchell) celebrates her promotion to senior wedding
and special events manager at multi award-winning East Lodge hotel
and restaurant in Rowsley.
It was a case of 'I do' times two, at multi award-winning East
Lodge hotel and restaurant recently, as Charlotte Nowill (nee
Mitchell), former operations manager, married at the very venue she
has done so much to help; she is now celebrating a double milestone
having been promoted to senior wedding and special events
manager.
A key member of the hotel's front of house team, Charlotte takes
on her new role in acknowledgement of her performance as a key
member of the East Lodge staff who have already collected two Enjoy
England Silver and Gold Awards in 2011 for Outstanding Customer
Service. Charlotte has always had special responsibility for
weddings, so it was fitting that she chose East Lodge as the venue
to say 'I do' herself in the summer too!
"I am so thrilled to be promoted," said Charlotte. "I have been
at East Lodge a few years now and as my new role involves attending
to any last minute challenges a bride may have, and making sure her
big day runs smoothly; it was magical to swap places and enjoy the
East Lodge experience as a bride myself. It was unbelievable to
have my own day in the limelight at East Lodge and needless to say
we had a great time! My experience also means I can see my job
better than ever, seeing every detail from the bride's
perspective."
Commenting on Charlotte's promotion, East Lodge deputy managing
director Iain Hardman, said: "Charlotte is one of our key members
of staff and her skill in delivering the perfect wedding experience
made this a natural promotion. Together Charlotte and Sam (Otter)
have made a great team and Charlotte puts as much in to helping
organise everyone else's weddings and events as she did her own big
day. We are one big family at East Lodge so it was great to
celebrate a wedding with one of our own."
Charlotte and her also recently promoted colleague Sam have both
worked their way up to senior management level at the hotel and are
both proof of what can be achieved in the hospitality industry.
"Charlotte and Sam's promotions have come through merit, hard
work and dedication to our vision," added Iain. "They are both a
real asset to East Lodge and prove that there's a lot more to the
hospitality industry than being a waitress, and that women can and
do rise to the top."
Owned by the Hardman family, East Lodge has remained a
multi-award winning venue by constantly improving its service and
by training and promoting key players in the business like Sam and
Charlotte to senior positions. Led by deputy managing director Iain
Hardman, this Hotel of the Year remains one of only 48 hotels in
the country to be awarded a Visit England Gold Award.
