Former Warwickshire and England batsmen Dennis Amiss
demonstrated his skills as an opener during an event in
Birmingham.
The deputy chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)
officially opened the new Birmingham offices of leading accountancy
firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK at 35 Calthorpe Road in
Edgbaston.
Around 150 business professionals from across the West Midlands
attended the launch night held at the Grade II* listed building
following the completion of a £1 million renovation.
Suk Aulak, head of Birmingham office at Chantrey Vellacott DFK
in Birmingham, said: "Everyone at the firm was thrilled that so
many people could join us to officially mark the opening of our new
offices.
"The event was certainly heaped in history as the building dates
back to the 1820s, Chantrey Vellacott DFK can trace its roots back
to 1788, and we also had clients who have been with the firm for
more than 100 years, celebrating with us."
Managing partner at Chantrey Vellacott DFK, Mike Tovey, added:
"The evening was one of many centuries and it was fitting that a
cricketing great in Dennis Amiss, who scored more than 100
first-class centuries during his career, many just up the road at
Warwickshire CCC, could join us to mark this special
occasion."
