West Bromwich
Due to a large increase in orders, West Bromwich engineering
firm, Tentec has made a significant investment in the latest
machining technology. Alongside recently approved plans to extend
the company's manufacturing facilities, this investment proves that
high-precision manufacturing is alive and well in the West Midlands
at a time when other companies are either closing down their
facilities or moving production abroad.
Tentec designs, manufactures and supplies bolt tightening
equipment for a wide range of industries including oil and gas,
wind energy, power generation and the general engineering market.
The new machine, a top-of-the-range Hyundai-Kia CNC Centre complete
with a Fanuc Control System for automatic and more efficient
operation, is used to manufacture both standard parts and
custom-designed components, including large diameter hydraulic
nuts. The investment of over £200,000 in this and two
additional manual turning machines gives Tentec greater control in
production planning and enables quicker and more efficient
turnaround, resulting in faster delivery timed for
customers.
The purchase and installation of the new machines was overseen
by Operations Director Dave Jones who says: "It gives me great
pleasure to see what the team at Tentec has achieved when many
other companies are struggling. Everyone works hard to ensure we
produce the best products and give our customers first class
service and support."
"Our timely investment not only sends a positive message to our
customers," adds Mike Gethings, Managing Director "but it also
reassures our employees that the management has a commitment to
continuous improvement, so guaranteeing the longevity of the West
Bromwich manufacturing facility."
