The CEO of Staffordshire-based TAMBA Internet, Kay Hammond, has
been named as the winner of the Woman in Technology and Engineering
category at the Network of Aspiring Women Awards 2011.
Held at Villa Park Birmingham, the awards celebrate the
successes of women nationally and aim to help them connect to do
business together, encouraging them to go higher in their chosen
profession.
The win comes at a successful time for TAMBA after the digital
marketing agency also picked up the top gong in the social category
at the recent 2011 COGS Awards.
Competing against four other finalists in her category, Kay
said: "It's fantastic to have won this award - I am completely
stunned! The other nominees are all inspirational individuals and
to be named as the winner, by judges that I truly admire, is a
huge, huge honour.
"It's been a great few months for us and I'm looking forward to
working with the team at TAMBA to take the company from strength to
strength".
The winners of nine categories were chosen by a panel of judges
that included Dragon's Den star Rachel Elnaugh, Secret Millionaire
Gill Fielding, and former rally driver and TV presenter Penny
Mallory.
Judge Caroline Waters, Director of People & Policy at BT,
said: "The judges immediately saw that Kay is a true success in a
male dominated world and a tricky market place. Her 30,000 twitter
followers and clients such as Kylie Minogue truly demonstrate that
she practises what she preaches."
TAMBA Internet is a multi-award winning viral, social media and
digital marketing agency. Clients include Expedia, Dell, Carphone
Warehouse and Kylie Minogue.
