Artwork created by students on the Foundation Degree in Graphics
and eMedia at Leicester College will go on display at Highcross
Leicester later this year.
As part of their course, students at Leicester College have been
invited to create the graphics, which will represent the
partnership between Highcross and the college as well as Highcross'
nominated charity of the year, Groundworks, to go on display at the
centre.
The graphics, which will have an environmental focus, will
feature in the access corridor opposite Costa Coffee, and will be
created to incorporate the Groundwork 'Bikes 4 All' initiative,
which aims to provide products and services to schools, community
groups, private organisations and companies and private
individuals.
In addition, the students have also been tasked to enliven the
baby changing facilities on the lower mall, making them more family
and child friendly.
Jo Tallack, general manager at Highcross, said: "We have been
working with Groundworks for a number of years now and the
partnership we have created with Leicester College will service to
not only highlight the work that the organisation promotes but also
give the students on the Graphics and e-Media course an opportunity
to display their works in a prominent location.
"We're really looking forward to seeing some of the concepts and
designs that the students have come up with and displaying them
within the centre."
Nick Ruhl, lead trainer at Leicester College said "We are really
excited to be working with Highcross and Groundworks, and the
opportunity to design graphics for such organisations really
impresses the learners. Those on the course have already produced
some amazing concepts, and it is exciting to know that this may be
the start of many projects that Leicester College, Highcross and
Groundworks will be working on in collaboration."
