A Coventry therapy clinic, specialising in non-surgical
liposuction, is getting bigger.
The Slimline Clinic, Earlsdon is the latest independent branch
of parent company The Slimline Clinic Limited and offers pain free,
non-surgical liposuction to those looking to lose excess fat from
specific areas.
The service has proved so popular that just a week after opening
for the first time, the company is already looking to expand into
larger premises.
The Slimline Clinic currently shares space at the Just Perfect
salon in Albany Road but it is finding the demand for this
revolutionary service is too much for the location to cope
with.
Andy O'Brien has launched the venture alongside his
fiancée Keris McKenzie and is pleased with the progress the
business has made in such a short space of time.
He said: "Since the first couple of days we were open we have
been fully booked.
"It is getting to stage the now where there is just not enough
space for us and we are having to turn potential customers
away.
"The salon is not open everyday of the week either and these are
days we could be filling with the demand we are seeing for the
service.
"We are already in talks with a couple of places over possibly
taking up extra space but nothing has been finalised just yet."
Slimline Limited has operated a similar service out of gyms in
Lichfield, Nuneaton and Dudley for seven years but this is the
first time such an independent branch has been launched.
Keris has worked in these locations for her father Hugh,
formerly of Mayflower vehicle services, prior to the opening of the
Earlsdon clinic where she trained the two operating consultant
technicians.
She feels the only reason this service has not taken off in an
even bigger way is because people cannot believe such results can
be attained in such a way - until they see them for themselves.
Keris said: "Slimline Limited started in gyms because that is
where you find the people most likely to use it.
"However, since launching this latest branch we have found that
it appeals to a range of people.
"I think the only reason this therapy is not more common is
because people are not aware of it.
"The therapy uses ultrasound to break fat cells down into liquid
so they can be passed through the liver as normal. There is no pain
or discomfort and in fact most customers often comment on how
relaxing it is, similar to a deep massage.
"It is the same ultrasound that is used on pregnant women and
sports injuries so you can be sure it is safe and the therapy can
be focussed on areas such as the stomach, legs and hips.
"We find that depending on the individual's size, they tend to
lose between one and six inches in their first session
"It helps to give people a fantastic boost whatever their goals
are but once the course, usually four weeks, is complete it is up
to the individual to keep the weight off.
"I know it works because I actually used the therapy myself and
have lost three and a half stone since April, in preparation for my
wedding in December."
