Eastside development Hive hit a summer sales high in August and
September with fourteen properties sold at the popular residential
scheme.
With no sign of the traditional summer slowdown at Hive, visitor
levels remained consistent in August and September with the
majority of properties sold to owner occupiers keen to move into
Birmingham city centre and be a part of Eastside's growing
community.
John Moffat, development director at Hive commented: "It's been
a great couple of months at Hive with no sign of the slowdown often
experienced at residential developments during the summer holidays.
The Eastside community here is growing fast, as is the status of
this side of the city. Construction commencing on the City Park
last month has proven a real talking point with purchasers who can
now see exactly how close Hive is to this fantastic new public
facility.
"With Hive's own Secret Garden for residents also nearing
completion, Eastside offers house hunters the opportunity to live
within walking distance of all the city centre has to offer while
also being able to enjoy almost seven acres of formal lawns, public
squares, water features and planted gardens.
"The start of work on the park followed the announcement that
Willmott Dixon has been chosen by Birmingham City University as the
approved contractor for a £61m project including phase one of
its City Centre Campus in Eastside. This will deliver another
fantastic learning environment to this side of the city and can
only further boost both the community and economy within Eastside.
With the new Hotel La Tour also under construction next door to
Hive, the future HS2 terminal and new Birmingham Magistrates Court,
Eastside is really starting to gather some critical mass, and
purchasers are able to see the potential capital growth on
offer."
Mark Evans, Partner at Knight Frank, added: "Since the launch of
the second phase at Hive earlier this year we have seen encouraging
sales figures. Hive is an excellent development for owner occupiers
as well as investors due to its great location, fantastic value for
money and exceptional finishes to each individual apartment."
Part of the wider £600m mixed-use Masshouse scheme in
Birmingham's Eastside, Hive brings an exciting and innovative new
collection of studio suites plus one and two bedroom apartments to
the city centre.
A choice of studio suite and one bedroom apartments are
currently available with prices starting from £90,000.
Properties are ready for immediate occupation and benefit from a
prime Eastside location within walking distance of the Bullring,
High Street, Colmore Business District and universities in the
vicinity.
Kick started through funding from the Homes and Communities
Agency, Hive has triumphed over difficult market conditions,
delivering stylish new apartment that are also highly innovative.
All properties at the development are powered by Birmingham
District Energy Company (BDEC) - the first time residential homes
in the city have benefitted from the city's district water heating
system, saving an estimated 92 per cent of CO2 emissions and
reducing residents' hot water and heating bills by around 30 per
cent.
