Riverside awards £10m maintenance deal to Seddon

Social landlord Riverside has awarded maintenance specialist Seddon Property Services a five-year contract to provide responsive maintenance services to over 5,000 homes in the Midlands.

Under the contract, which starts in November and is worth up to £10 million in total turnover, Seddon will provide the responsive repairs service for Riverside's housing stock in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire. It will also do the same for housing managed by the social landlord at RAF Cosford in Telford and Riverside-managed residential and office accommodation at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Seddon will additionally carry out repair work to Riverside's void (empty) homes. The contract is for five years initially, with the option to extend for a further five years.

Riverside tenants and residents have been involved in the selection process by helping to mark the Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and assessing performance and service levels of all the contractors who tendered for the work.

Phil Davison, Riverside Midlands assistant director of property services, says:

"Seddon has been through a rigorous procurement process to be selected.   The contract will involve partnership working with Riverside to deliver employment opportunities in the form of apprenticeships and help with other community initiatives.

"We look forward to the next five years working with Seddon to deliver the responsive repairs service to Riverside in the Midlands."

Apprentice opportunities

"Our highly-skilled and fully-qualified team have an impressive track record in delivering efficient, effective maintenance services with the emphasis on customer satisfaction and total quality," comments Mark Brindley, joint managing director of Seddon Property Services. "We are delighted to be working with Riverside to provide customer-focused, responsive maintenance services through this important new contract." Seddon is committed to providing opportunities for jobs and training and will take on a number of apprentices to join the team working on the Riverside contract.

Seddon Property Services is part of Seddon Group, a family-owned company specialising in construction, painting and maintenance and housebuilding.
