Industrial recruitment specialist gap personnel has cemented its
position as one of the UK's top 10 players - days after recording
its best ever monthly sales figures.
For the second year running gap comes eighth in the 'Top 250
Report', the definitive industry guide published by trade bible
Recruitment International.
gap, which has now made the top 10 in each of the past three
years, achieved turnover of £46m in 2010 and is on course to
hit £60m in 2011.
That represents a recession-defying annual growth rate of 28 per
cent.
Last month gap, which has centres across the Midlands, posted
the highest monthly sales and margin figures in the company's
14-year history.
That's despite the introduction of the Agency Worker
Regulations, which many experts predicted would affect recruitment
badly.
Gary Dewhurst, founder and managing director of gap personnel,
said: "I am delighted to see such a strong set of sales results
ahead of our busiest quarter.
"It is a testimony to old-fashioned hard graft throughout the
company.
"With recent investments in IT infrastructure and dedicated
regional sales teams, I am confident we are setting strong
foundations for further growth as we head in to 2012."
gap has successful regional operations in the north west, Wales,
midlands, Yorkshire, the south west and the M5 corridor.
The privately-owned, independent agency covers more than 1.5
million shifts per year and employs 165 specialist recruiters and
contract managers.
Specialist divisions include driving, food and drink,
manufacturing, technical, warehousing and distribution, waste
management and recycling and automotive.
Gary added: "One of the biggest factors that sets us apart is
that our shareholders and directors are all actively involved in
the day to day running of the business, meeting clients and running
accounts, which is unusual for a top company.
"Our clients can be reassured that they are dealing with one of
the largest and most established industrial recruitment agencies in
the UK."
