Pick Everard has been appointed as Scape's sole national
provider for project management and quantity surveying services for
the public sector under a new four year framework.
Scape national frameworks are unique, with this one allowing
public sector organisations to buy project management and quantity
surveying services very quickly and efficiently at competitive
rates. Using the Scape framework will make appointing consultants
more straightforward, less stressful and significantly quicker.
The estimated framework spend on public sector new build,
refurbishment and maintenance project services could be as much as
£10million over the next four years and involves Pick Everard
in managing over £500m of construction value. Pick Everard
will work with local authorities, Central Government Departments,
National Health Service (NHS) bodies, police forces and other
public sector bodies over the life of the framework, harnessing the
power of its established, national supply chain using local
delivery SME's.
Scape System Build Ltd is a Local Authority controlled company
whose shareholders are Derby City, Derbyshire County, Gateshead,
Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire County and Warwickshire County
Councils. Scape enables public sector organisations to access the
best value, quality service providers through frameworks that allow
contract performance to be monitored rigorously.
Alastair Hamilton, Pick Everard Partner and the framework
director comments, "Pick Everard was one of the six national firms
short listed for the second stage of the Scape framework tender so
we're delighted to have been selected. Delivering improvements in
the public sector is not just about saving time and cost cutting. A
different, more intelligent approach is needed looking at whole
life costs and long‐term sustainability of projects.
Procurement through Scape as a single source is, in itself, more
efficient, saving, on average, up to 200 days for public bodies
during procurement. "
Alan Coole, Development Director at Scape adds, "This is an
important framework for public sector organisations and will help
deliver better value for money. Scape is delighted that Pick
Everard are on-board as one of our national partners, helping
deliver for clients a very efficient, quick and effective service
for all their construction needs. They were able to demonstrate a
very client focussed attitude and innovative ideas which are
essential to help deliver better projects in these changing
times."
Pick Everard joins Willmott Dixon (major works contractor) and
Faithful and Gould (design consultant) on the framework. Scape will
also be announcing the award of the new national minor works
contractor in September 2011, a contract worth up to £1bn
over four years.
