A Birmingham van centre manager raised hundreds of pounds for
charity after completing in this year's Christie's Manchester to
Blackpool bike ride.
Mark Woodhouse, from Birmingham, joined 2,750 cyclists for the
annual Christie charity bike ride, raising over £300.
The Volkswagen Van Centre manager experienced unsettled weather
and a broken front brake on the 62 mile course, which is aimed at
generating funds to help the charity create a future without
cancer.
The cycling challenge took Mark four hours to complete. Speaking
of the event Mark said: "The whole event, although tough, was an
amazing experience.
"There was an immense sense of achievement as I crossed the
finishing line.
"I'm more of a mountain bike rider so this was my first time on
a road bike and I really have got the charity cycling bug.
"I plan to complete the bike ride again next year and I have
given myself the goal of beating my time and doubling the money I
raised for Christie's."
