A Nottinghamshire hotel is launching a competition to encourage
local children to flex their artistic muscle this Autumn by giving
them the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in its
restaurant.
The Clumber Park Hotel and Spa, situated in the heart of Robin
Hood country, wants to celebrate the season by inviting kids in the
area to create their own leaf-based art to feature at the
hotel.
Launching on 17th October 2011, the Falling Leaves Competition
is looking for entrants to submit their artistic interpretation of
a leaf and the winner will not only be awarded a meal for them and
their family but also get to see their leaf exhibited in the
hotel's Normanton Inn.
"The Normanton Inn underwent a huge refurbishment and redesign
this year when it re-opened in April and so what better way to add
some finishing touches than featuring some work created by local
artists?" says Edward Mobbs, the hotel's Sales and Marketing
Manager.
"The hotel's emblem is an Oak leaf and we're right on the
doorstep of Sherwood Forest so it seemed perfect to bring some of
the forest into the Normanton," he continues.
The Falling Leaves Competition is open to three age ranges: 4-6,
6-8 and 8-10 and the entry requirements are as follows:
Each entry must depict a leaf and may be either a
drawing/painting or made out of papier mache.
Entries must be received by Friday 4th November 2011 and should
be sent to the hotel

"Autumn is probably the most stunning time of the year in
Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest with all the leaves changing
colour and we sometimes take it for granted seeing it day in, day
out," says Edward.
"The Falling Leaves competition is the ideal way to remind us
just how lucky we are to be in such a beautiful part of the country
and to also remind our children what gorgeous countryside is right
on their doorstep."
The closing date for entries to the Falling Leaves Competition
is 4th November 2011 and the prize winner of each age range will
have their art exhibited in The Normanton Inn 21 - 27 November and
win a meal for 4 to be taken the same week. Entries should be sent
