A Nottinghamshire businesswoman has helped to raise more than
£200,000 for vital breast cancer research.
Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of Newark-based concert producers, Liz
Hobbs Group Ltd, who has been Chair of Breast Cancer Campaign's
Pink Ribbon Ball committee for five years, helped to organise this
year's prestigious event at London's Dorchester Hotel.
The 17th annual Pink Ribbon Ball, which took place on October 8,
was hosted by Les Dennis and was attended by almost 350 business
people, volunteers and celebrities including Linda Nolan, who is
Patron of the ball, as well as Bernie Nolan, Amanda Lamb, Hayley
Tamaddon, Chris Cracknell, Andrea McLean, Sarah Maxwell, Elen Rivas
and Anastacia who performed on the evening.
Liz said: "Raising over £200,000 is amazing in these
difficult times, but thanks to the generosity of the committee
members and organisations who dedicated their time to making this
event a success, as well as those who donated prizes and dug deep
into their pockets on the night, we raised a fantastic amount once
again for this important cause.
"Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer to affect
women, so it's important that we continue raise funds to support
breast cancer research. It's a privilege to be involved with such a
wonderful committee, which always goes beyond the call of duty to
ensure that the Pink Ribbon Ball is a great success every
year."
