Lincolnshire's business and economic prospects and the impact of
national politics on the county, will be in focus at an MP's
Question Time format event being organised by the Institute of
Directors (IoD) later this month at the Bishop Grosseteste
University College, Lincoln.
The Lincolnshire Media Group is sponsoring the lunchtime event,
on Friday 21 October, when Lincoln MP Karl McCartney and Nic Dakin,
MP for Scunthorpe, will be on the panel. It will be chaired by IoD
Fellow James Pinchbeck, Marketing Partner of Streets Chartered
Accountants.
They will be joined by prominent local business figures,
including Karen Lowthrop, CEO of the environmental social
enterprise, Hill Holt Wood. Karen won Entrepreneur of the Year for
2011 and was awarded an MBE earlier this year in recognition of her
work in developing the wood and being an inspiration to young
people. David Hindmarch, Managing Director of Springfield Park
Properties, Grantham Investments Ltd and Chandlers Oil and Gas is
another member of the panel.
Graeme Leach, the IoD's Chief Economist and Director of Policy
and a visiting professor at the University of Lincoln will complete
the panel line-up.
Annette Wood, Chair of IoD Lincolnshire, which is organising the
event, commented:" There are crucial economic, policy and
regulatory questions facing businesses and key issues including
development, transport and education. This event is an opportunity
to air those views and to hear from the experts."
Bookings for the event, being held in the Robert Hardy Theatre
and which includes a buffet lunch, can be made via
