It will be a case of showing a stiff upper lip throughout November at the Ricoh Arena to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

Chief executive Daniel Gidney, facilities director Anthony Mundy and finance director John Street will be growing - or attempting to grow - moustaches for the Movember fundraising campaign throughout the 30 days of November.

Over 110,000 men, or Mo Bros, took part across the UK in 2010 to raise over £11.7 million for vital funds and to increase awareness of men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

Daniel, Anthony and John are taking part in Movember and have challenged their colleagues, friends and families to help them reach £1,000 which will then be doubled by the board of directors at Arena Coventry Limited, who run and manage the Ricoh Arena.

Daniel said there was a serious aspect to a fun decision to be involved in Movember.

"There is a comical side to it since none of us have ever had a moustache before and we're not sure how much facial hair we will be able to grow," he said. "It has caused great hilarity in the office as well as ridicule from our family and friends.

"But the most important aspect is to raise awareness because prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and the key fact is that one man dies from prostate cancer every hour in the UK.

"We felt it was a very worthwhile cause because not enough people know about it and we want to raise awareness of this silent killer."

JC, co-founder of Movember UK, said the emerging moustaches of Daniel, Anthony and John will allow them to promote men's health as they become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of Movember.

"Through the power of the Mo we are changing the actions and attitudes of men around the world when it comes to their health," he said.

"The Mo is a catalyst for change, promoting both public and private conversation and through the growth of a moustache during November we will continue to increase early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment of cancer."
