Morgan Tucker is growing both in size and in expertise and has appointed two new experts to join its team.

The Newark-based firm of consulting engineers has appointed structural engineer Tim Doubell, 38, as an associate, to head up the company's structural engineering division and Phil Walker, 41, as a principal engineer.

Tim has over 15 years' experience in the industry and has worked for high profile firms including RPS, Scott Wilson and Burks Green. In his new role at Morgan Tucker Tim will oversee the structural engineering team, working both independently and as part of a professional team on many varied projects in the leisure, education, retail, industrial and energy sectors.

Tim said of his appointment: "I am looking forward to working with the team at Morgan Tucker. When I heard about the post, I was keen to apply as I feel that there is real opportunity to continue to grow the work the company does in structural engineering market. I hope that the experience I bring will add to the knowledge and contacts Matthew and the team already have, and together we will be able to further build a thriving department."

Phil has over 20 years experience in the industry and has previously worked for firms including Opus, where he was associate director of civil engineering, JPA, and HSL. In his new role at Morgan Tucker, Phil will be working on a variety of projects in highways, water and infrastructure, as well as pushing new business in these sectors.

Phil said: "I was delighted when I was asked to join the team by Matthew, and in a time when companies are still struggling in the downturn, it is great to be joining a firm which has ambitious growth plans that I will be a part of."

As well as Tim and Phil's appointments, Morgan Tucker has already relocated to bigger premises as part of its expansion earlier this year, and due to significant new contract wins with clients in the south of England, the firm has also just opened an office in a prestigious location close to Westminster Abbey in London.

Matthew said on Tim and Phil's appointments: "I am delighted to welcome Tim and Phil to the team. They both bring a wealth of experience which I feel will be a real benefit to us. 2011 has already been a great year for us, we have already moved into bigger and better premises and opened a London office, and now, as well as recruiting, we are also looking to expand our expertise and move into other areas of work."
