Fernwood Business Park near Newark
Gladman Developments have announced the opening of the new
Fernwood Business Park, a building offering traditional office
space on flexible terms, as well as hot-desking facilities and
other forward thinking business arrangements.
Hodgson Elkington LLP, chartered surveyors, who are marketing
the £13 million high-specification office development
adjacent the A1 at Fernwood, near Newark have reported that the new
venture has already attracted four new occupiers including Amalgam
Training taking the entire ground floor.
Other occupants include locally based businesses who will be
using the 'Hot desking' facilities at the business centre.
Originating as a trend in the late 1980s to early 1990s, hot
desking involves one desk shared between several people who use the
desk at different time. All inclusive rents offer the chance for
business to concentrate on what they do best leaving the landlord
to worry about the distracting property management issues.
"With the growth of mobility services, hot desking can also
include the routing of voice and other messaging services to any
location where the user is able to log in to their secure corporate
network. Therefore their telephone number, their email and instant
messaging can be routed to their location on the network and no
longer to just their physical desk," said Tom Elkington of Hodgson
Elkington.
"Even in these extremely difficult market conditions we
are confident, based on the current level of enquiries, that
further lettings will be made in the not so distant future. The
building is being offered on attractive terms and we encourage all
business to have a look at what is available" said Tom
Elkington.
Terms have also been agreed in a relation to numerous other
deals on site ranging from between 500 and 6,000 sq ft. This latest
progression follow an earlier move by estate agents Fisher German
LLP to Fernwood who bought Unit 12, a two-storey 2,250 sq ft
building at Halifax Court on phase one of the development. Fisher
German has offices throughout the UK and employ 200 staff. They
relocated from Alverton, some 9 miles south of Newark and took on
more staff..
The £13 million development at Fernwood, comprises two
phases by Cheshire based commercial developer Gladman Developments
and is known as Millgate Court and Abbott Court which will form
part of the £50M 38 acre (15.4 Hectare) Fernwood Business
Park, a development by Strawsons Property.
