Leading city law firm Martineau celebrated its sponsorship of
Orchestra of the Swan's new Town Hall Birmingham concert series
with a reception at its Colmore Square offices.
Guests from the Midlands business community and colleagues
enjoyed Champagne and canapés to the accompaniment of live
music from a harpist and flautist from the Orchestra, which has
residencies in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Birmingham, Bedworth,
Loughborough and London.
Presentations were made by John Rice - Partner and Head of CSR
at Martineau, Richard Smith - Managing Director of Henley-in-Arden
based Opus Land and Chairman of the Orchestra of the Swan (OOTS)
Board, and David Curtis - Artistic Director of OOTS.
Orchestra of the Swan, one of the UK's leading chamber
orchestras, launches its fifth season as Artists in Residence at
Town Hall Birmingham on Wednesday, October 19 with a concert
featuring its new Associate Artist, the exciting young pianist
Benjamin Grosvenor.
Kathy Toon, a Martineau Partner, said her company was delighted
with the success of the reception to launch the new Town Hall
concert series.
She added: "Orchestra of the Swan is acclaimed for its great
performances, innovative programmes and excellent recordings, but
is lesser known for its valuable community work, particularly with
schools, youth groups, daycare centres and hospices.
"As a not-for-profit organisation, the Orchestra needs help to
continue its fine work and make music accessible to all, which is
why we are so happy to support it."
