Leading Birmingham lettings and management agents Letscene have had their reputation for outstanding customer service confirmed with a top professional accreditation.

The residential rental experts, who specialise in the city centre apartment market, have become a fully licensed operator under the National Approved Letting Scheme.

Membership reassures landlords and tenants that a company complies with defined service standards, provides a customer complaints procedure backed up with arbitration, and has client money and tenant deposit protection cover.

The NALS is supported by some of the most powerful voices in the property industry including the British Property Federation, the Guild of Letting and Management, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

NALS Operations Director Isobel Thomson said: "Agents such as Letscene are in the vanguard of a drive to establish uniform service standards in the industry. We are delighted to welcome the company into the scheme.

Jagdeep Cooner, Joint Manager of Letscene, said: "NALS membership, which entitles us to bear the NALS logo, shows our landlords and tenants just what they can expect from us as we continue to grow rapidly."

Founded in 2004 by Jagdeep Cooner and Abdul Mumeen, who have around 20 years' experience in the lettings and management industry between them, Letscene has doubled its business over the past three years and has plans to open its first office in London's Marble Arch on October 1.

"Our main focus of activity is letting apartments in Birmingham City Centre and homes in Edgbaston and Harborne. With a shortage of stock in the current economic conditions, we are actively seeking to offer a full management service to landlords for apartments of all sizes," said Jagdeep.

"Historically the property industry has been beset by 'cowboy' lettings agents but our move will help to regulate a still voluntary industry," he added.

Letscene offers a highly competitive deal to landlords, with no administration fees or renewal fees payable for apartment lettings in Birmingham City Centre. Based at 65 The Qube in Scotland Street, Birmingham, the agency also provides a convenient up to the minute online service to landlords and tenants at www.letscene.com.
