The team at local Vauxhall retailer, Marshall of Leicester, are
celebrating after clocking up an incredible 270 years of service
between them at the dealership on Thurmaston Lane in Leicester.
An impressive 36% of Marshall of Leicester's staff have been at
the retailer for over ten years. What is even more remarkable is
that 5 members of staff have been at Marshall of Leicester since
the site opened in 1992. These employees will complete their 20
years of service in 2012 when the retailer celebrates its 20th
anniversary.
Raj Makvana, Bodyshop manager at Marshall of Leicester, believes
that his longevity is thanks to the excellent team. Raj comments:
"Here at Marshall of Leicester, we have several members of staff
who have been with us for a great many years. It is these
companions that make it such a pleasure for me to come to work day
after day."
And, Estimator, Paul Longley agrees, adding: "I love the
camaraderie and family atmosphere here - over the years you make
great relationships with regular customers, suppliers and
colleagues."
Meanwhile, Chris Bancroft who is a painter at Marshall of
Leicester enjoys meeting all the familiar faces that come back
Vauxhall after Vauxhall. "It feels like old friends coming for a
chat, which consequently creates a fantastic working atmosphere,"
says Chris.
Masterfit Tech, Trevor Corckett has witnessed many changes over
the years and has seen the company go from strength to strength.
Trevor comments: "When I first started at Marshall of Leicester
almost 20 years ago, there were only ** staff - today we employ
nearly 50!"
Whilst Nigel Carter is very passionate about the company's range
of vehicles and has enjoyed working with Vauxhall for such a
considerable amount of time, commenting: "We have held the Vauxhall
Franchise for almost 20 years, and I have really enjoyed witnessing
all of the changes that Vauxhall has been through."
