A Worcestershire manufacturer of education products won the
£40,000 contract to support a new Leicestershire education
centre.
HME Technology, based at Saxon Park in Bromsgrove, is the
leading supplier and installer of design and technology and science
equipment for schools.
Its range of products include forges, brazing hearths, furnaces,
welding tables, fume extraction systems, kilns, woodworking
equipment, wood dust extraction systems, metal finishing and CNC
machines. It also supplies fume cupboards and ventilation systems
for science departments.
A selection has gone into the new Melton Vale Post 16 Centre at
Melton Mowbray.
A successor to the King Edward VII school, it is now fully
operational.
Julian Davis, managing director of HME Technology, said: "We
were thrilled to kit out Melton Vale with our state-of-the-art
equipment.
"It will put the workforce of the future at the heart of design
and technology expertise. And hopefully this experience at 16-plus
will inspire some to make their careers in the sector."
School Principal Tony Pinnock said: "We are based in a brand new
building equipped to a world class standard, an environment that
will allow us to reach even higher standards.
"The range of courses we offer is second to none and students
continue to achieve outstanding results."
The new £13 million centre will provide Sixth Form
education for students moving up from Belvoir High School, John
Ferneley College and Long Field School.
