Welcome to the National Space Centre's School of Wizardry! This
half term holiday the team will be trying their hand at alchemy and
creating a truly magical environment for visitors to discover the
magic of science.
Why not join Professor Isham for a Potions class to discover the
secrets of Disappearing Water? Or maybe you are destined for
magical greatness and need to take a class in Charms with our
Headmaster, Professor Darby, to try your hand at Exploding Bubbles
and Changing Liquids!
Classes can be attended throughout the day, so lots of time has
been allowed for free periods to enjoy the rest of the award
winning National Space Centre, including a seat in the Space
Theatre for the fulldome show with the enchanting David
Tennant!
However if that were not enough there is a little future magic
dropping in before it heads off on an astonishing mission to Mars!
Bridget, the ESA and NASA ExoMars mission test robot, will be
visiting the National Space Centre between 15th to 21st October and
again 26th to 29th.
On these days the million pound prototype will be put through
her paces and driven across a scientifically simulated Martian
surface. This window on science will also highlight the UK company
behind the robot, EADS Astrium.
Malika Andress, Head of Marketing at the National Space Centre,
said "We are really excited by the Halloween Wizardry programme for
the half term period. Science is magical and we want to show
visitors of all ages that they can have fun and enjoy science.
Having a visit from a real space robot is just the magical icing on
the cake."
